This hat is for Dan. He saw it in the Stitch N’ Bitch book last spring and said he’d love it. I think it’s because the name of it is “The Umbilical Cord Hat.”
He’s sorta like that, if you catch my drift. What a hoot.
And finally here are my two Wonderful Wallaby sweaters for my twin neice and nephew! Little projects are SO satisfying!
First I have to post a couple photos of the beautiful sky we had the other day.
Everywhere I looked was like a painting. GORGEOUS!
And then my latest project(s) will be some Christmas stockings for my family out of the Knit Christmas Stockings! book. Of course, I’ve already started out badly, as this sock should be done in cotton, and here I am in el cheapo acrylic and not enjoying it at all. This baby would probably fit the jolly man, himself. I’ll be starting this over; trust me. These will be a real test for me because I tend to find sock knitting a bit mundane. The absolute beauty of these, though, is…
I ONLY HAVE TO MAKE ONE!!!!
I feel like Penny! (You know who you are!) I finished this Wonderful Wallaby for my little ONE-year-old niece in ONE WEEK! (I’m thinking of renaming mine the ONE-derful Wallabies!) Of course, nothing I make can go smoothly. I made the mistake of reading the directions wrong and knitting up a really large adult-sized hood for it — man, that just looked
weird wrong! But searches on this ONE-derfully helpful internet showed me how to just cut the danged thing off and find the yarn end so I could redo it with the correct size. Now I have to make a second one, in blue, for her twin brother.
