ANY IDEAS FOR AN 11-foot WINDOW DISPLAY?

I’d love some ideas for my 11-foot front window display at my new store, ImagiKnit. Any and all suggestions would be most welcome! I’m a little brain-fried trying to get this up and running, but it looks like it could happen THIS WEEK!!! I can hardly believe it. With so many delays and set-backs in dealing with our local building department and state codes (at least their interpretation of them), I didn’t think it would ever happen. And I hate counting my skeins before they’re spun — I mean, do I actually have a permanent occupancy permit? *shudder* I won’t even go there.

So waddya think about this idea (for starters) for a window display?

Ya like those needles? Aren’t they a HOOT?!? Would you love to see your ideas come to life? Send me your thoughts. If I use any part of them, I’ll take a pic of the window display and post it!

C’mon! Help!

  1. I’ve got a huge box full of roving and a couple of spindles on the way, and there will be sock yarn by next mid-week. Oh yeah…I’ve got the skein of handspun boucle ready to be your muse!

No Saturday knitting for me today…waaaay too late a night last night. (And no, nothing exciting, just a hubby who had to drive to Grand Rapids at 4pm in the middle of whiteout snow and high winds…took 5 hours down and almost as long to get back and I don’t sleep while he’s on the road like this…)

I’ll see you sometime this week…better the roving’s in your storage area than mine!

    ~Big hugs!~

  2. I love the huge needles, but I think the knitting on them needs to be bigger, maybe wider (more stitches on the needles) I don’t know if they make “stuffed cats”, but a kitty curled up next to the knitting would be awfully homey. (I always like a homey feel to my LYS’s). Good luck!

  3. I’ve always been a big fan of “live” displays. What about some knitsters showing off their skills at certain (peak) times of the day? You could ask for volunteers or have a lottery of sorts. Maybe even a few spinners too. Let me know what you think. Good luck.

  4. Hmm…I always like sweaters and samples of the yarn to knit them from. Sock displays would be good with some of your fave colours and brands out there. Maybe a cuppa with needles and a skein too? Good Luck!
